Their home is part of the 3rd annual METAvivor Tour

"The way the house is built, you can see the bay view while standing in the front yard," said owner Dick Ladd. "You can look straight through the house." From their deck chairs, the Ladds have enjoyed watching the QE2 regally steam by en route to a Baltimore berth and the Volvo Yacht Races.

The view has been a lifesaver, too. Several years ago, a Naval Academy midshipman sponsored by the Ladds noticed a Hobie catamaran had overturned out on the bay. He and Dick leapt into a motorboat and raced out to the vessel. The two men rescued the couple-in-distress who were flailing in the water. The men couldn't right the Hobie, so they towed it to Podickory Point Marina for repairs to its broken mast. The waterlogged couple came home with them.

As we admired the home, the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Stratton, a 418-foot Legend-class National Security Cutter acquired by the Coast Guard on Sept. 2, cruised by the Baltimore Light House, far out on the bay. Nearby was a gigantic cargo vessel sailing through an unseen channel.

Privacy settings: Off privacy is a kind of big problem for Facebook. On one side of privacy that is the user - what information friends, strangers and Facebook itself can see about you. Critics say that the social network juggles her privacy settings, too often, and do not tell the full story about what can learn about you if they really, really keen to know. Suffice it to say that if you want complete privacy, do not join Facebook. If you somehow want privacy, go into your profile settings and tighten them - they are pretty loose by default. But the desire for privacy is also felt by the leaders of the company. It is the largest social network in the world, it gets more traffic than Google (NASDAQ: GOOG), has more than half a billion members, but it is still not a payment for listed companies scholarship Enterprise Security 2.0 White Paper CyberSource.
