Cars seized in drug busts auctioned

Standing off to the side of the biannual York County Drug Task Force seized car auction, a task force member commented he saw "a few" familiar faces.

He didn't mean his fellow task force members.

York County District Attorney Tom Kearney also observed that the crowd "had a myriad of reasons" to show up on Black Friday at Schaad's Detective Agency for the auction of 75 cars, 15 wide screen TVs, numerous oversize speakers and other items seized in drug busts.

"Sometimes people come because they want their car back," he said. "Some are just looking for a second car.

"Sometimes they think we haven't found something inside of the car. I assure you, we work the cars over pretty well."

The automobile auction began at 10 a.m. sharp.
